King’s Lynn Town Centre Regeneration
King’s Lynn has secured £25m under the government’s Towns Fund programme, £20m Pride In Place and £20m Levelling Up Fund. The 10 year vision set out in the King’s Lynn Regeneration Plan sets out the ambitions to enhance the economic prosperity of the town. Investment is already underway to deliver transformational projects including;
Innovative, growing businesses and a skilled work force
- School of Nursing (completed 2021)
- King’s Lynn Library (opened in March 2026)
Sustainably connected town
- Active and Clean Connectivity (due to complete 2027)
- Sustainable Transport and Regeneration Scheme (due to complete 2028)
- Southgates Regeneration Area
Historic riverfront and repurposed town centre
- Riverfront Regeneration Phase 1 (due to complete 2027)
- Public Realm
- St Georges Guildhall & Creative Hub (due to open 2028)
A new masterplan for King’s Lynn has been developed during 2025/6 to build on the investment to date and identify priorities for future investment and regeneration. The masterplan prospectus sets out the scale of opportunities available in King’s Lynn including identification of 24 sites for delivery of the ambition in the short, medium and long term including new homes, non-residential floorspace and public realm and open space.
